University of Jiroft
was established more than 30 years ago. Upon receiving the agreement from the
Council for the Development of Higher Education, the university initiated its
educational and research activities in 1988 as an academic college under the supervision
of Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman,
The University of
Jiroft began as an agriculture school. Upon receiving the formal licensing and permits, the university began
its work as University of Jiroft in 2009, opening new feathers for research and
investigation development in southern Kerman.
The university offers 42
bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. programs to 3764 undergraduate and graduate students
within five faculties, significantly contributing to educating the elites and
generating knowledge and technology in Iran.
With the aid of 120
full-time faculty members, not only has the university offered quality
education, but also played a remarkable role in creating a dynamic research hub
for promoting science and technology.
A high fraction of
students graduated from University of Jiroft are accepted at other top state-universities,
indicating the high quality of the education in this university.
University of Jiroft,
as a society-oriented university, has always made sustainable development in
southern Kerman a priory.
Through cooperative
agreements with various universities, research centers, and administrative
agencies, the university has been able to fulfil its duties in terms of meeting
the national and regional requirements.
