The Department of Chemistry,
located within the Faculty of Science, offers a Bachelor Program which aims at
nurturing scholars who can proactively challenge themselves within new and
unexplored research fields and contribute to the society and industry in a wide
variety of areas. Students achieve this through the effective use of; a
comprehensive knowledge in the natural sciences, and material sciences in
particular; a wide perspective; logical thinking; scientific morals; top-quality
research ability; and internationalization. In regards to this aim, students
have the opportunity to learn within the extensive field of chemistry
systematically. Ultimately, through those experiments and classes, students
will have achieved a multifaceted understanding of the construction of matter,
its properties, and reactivity, with both micro and macro perspectives.
Research is underway in many exciting areas in chemistry, notably cutting-edge
work in analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical
and computational chemistry, nanochemistry and nanotechnology, polymer science,
catalysis science and technology, environmental chemistry, water treatment,
fuel cells, as applied and industrial chemistry.
The Department of Chemistry commenced
educational and scientific activities in 2011 with a bachelor's degree student
in Pure Chemistry and Pesticides. With the support of prominent faculty members
and the cooperation of students and capable experts. Department of Chemistry
produces science at the frontiers of knowledge and new technologies in various
fields of basic sciences. Department of Chemistry is engaged in developing
basic and applied research and creating a competitive scientific environment
for the scientific needs of society and industry and strives to improve and
promote it globally by gaining and maintaining its scientific superiority. One
of the scientific characteristics of this claim is the publication of qualified
articles in high-ranking scientific research journals and obtaining scientific
rankings in reputable databases; every year, many valuable research studies,
created by chemistry department academic staff works are introduced as
outstanding works by international scientific institutes. Currently, Department
of Chemistry has six full-time faculty members in Pure Chemistry and Applied
Chemistry at the undergraduate level and Organic Chemistry at the graduate
level.
