The department of horticulture science was established in 1989 by admission of
students in the field of plant production technology. Sixteen years (1989-2005)
later, with launching of the discontinuous Bachelor's Degree in plant production
engineering-horticultural sciences, it continued its development and in 2012,
it began admission
undergraduate students. The department launched its own Master's Program
in 2021 in the field of fruit trees. Currently, students are engaged in
research activities and the department provides relatively well equipped
research laboratories, specialized facilities and greenhouses for research and
education.
